Reininger Walla Walla Valley - 2 Pack

Double Your Walla, Double Your Walla

Hey, wine from a state that some of us now live in! Somehow that never happened with Missouri or Texas.

Sure, Missouri boasts a wine-growing tradition going back to the 1840s. It was one of the biggest wine-producing states before Prohibition and is home to the first designated AVA. As for Texas, well, Spanish missionaries were kickin’ the vines there back in the 1600s. But we’re not blinded by chauvinism: we know neither state is a top-tier wine producer these days and we learned to live with that shame.

Now, though, now that some of us have moved up to Seattle, we’re going to take credit for those Reininger Walla Walla Valley reds purely by dint of our shared residency in the Evergreen State. Hey, check us out, everybody! We live in a leading wine-growing region! High five! Yay us!

Yes, up here in Washington we’re mighty proud of our 2007 Reininger Syrah, with its luscious aromas of blueberry, lavender, and orange zest. We Baja Canadians define ourselves by our subtle smoke and pomegranate flavors. And don’t get us started on the 2006 Reininger Merlot, an alluring, juicy fantasia of wildflowers and summer berries, dark chocolate and warm baking spices followed by a good after-dinner cigar. That’d be like asking an Idahoan how they feel about potatoes.

Of course, we didn’t even live in Washington the last time the crates containing these bottles were dusted, let alone when they were grown, harvested, and bottled. And if you drove us there blindfolded and pushed us out of the car, we wouldn’t know Walla Walla from Mukilteo. But that won’t stop us from telling you all about how the excellence of Reininger Winery just shows you how we do things up here.

Since last August, anyway. We’re kinda hazy on what Washington was like before that.

Shipping Note: The Wine.Woot elves are taking a short break and will begin shipping these orders right after the New Year.
