Corison Kronos Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon - $84.99

What Price Love?

We’ll get this to you by Valentine’s Day, but it’s up to you to remember when Valentine’s Day is. We can only do so much.

Hey, we’re glad we could help the last couple of Valentine’s Days. We hope those wines or chocolates or whatever it was you purchased from us helped you bring the evening to a rewarding end. It really is true what they say: Wine.Woot was made for lovers.

But you can’t just keep doing the same thing forever and expecting it to be just as exciting as the first time. That’s why relationships get stale. That’s when eyes start to wander. That’s how love dies. You don’t want to kill love, do you?

Of course you don’t. So this year, we’re helping you kick your Valentine’s Day up a notch, by kicking the price up a notch. After all, if it’s the thought that counts, the thought “I’ll spend any amount to make you happy” counts a lot more than “I’ll spend just enough to keep me from getting in trouble.”

The Corison Kronos 2004 Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon starts with 100% estate-grown grapes from the gravelly loam of Corison’s estate turf, the organically farmed Kronos Vineyard in Napa Valley. ‘04 was a very good year, it turns out, with pretty much perfect weather producing low yields of exceptionally concentrated fruit. Corison’s Old World artisan techniques were then brought to bear on those precious, precious grapes. The resulting Cab is resplendent with blackberry, raspberry, dried herb, rose petal, and violet aromas; a full, silky mouth; and precise balance between intense fruit and refined tannins. We suppose that’s why it’s received such rapturous reviews.

Is this Corison estate Cab the best wine we’ve ever featured? We don’t know from “best”. “Best”, what does “best” mean? You ask us, all of our wines are the “best”. But it’s certainly the most expensive, and one of the most acclaimed. And it’s certain to symbolize your deepening love for your significant other, as expressed by your willingness to spend more money on him or her.

Just a word of caution, though: if you don’t wind up buying this wine and decide to go with one of our previous cheaper-but-still-special-in-their-own-way offerings, it might be best if your special someone doesn’t see this page. It’ll only raise the question of why you love money more than you love him or her. After all we’ve done to make your Valentine’s Days a success, we’d hate to ruin this one.
